DJ Flava doesn’t call himself a Hip Hop DJ. He considers himself as an R&B DJ, mostly influenced by Hip Hop music. “In my view I always play ‘good’ music. What kind of style or genre it may be doesn’t matter, as long as it sounds good in my ears.
”Flava started DJ’ing at the age of 7 when he used every record he found around the house and tried to scratch with his mom’s old skool turntable. Now, 19 years later, Flava is still discovering all types of music, from classic Breaks to Funk to Pop to House. “For me, it’s still a learning process to know where all the hits from now originally come from. I got a love for music and that’s something that I will have for the rest of my life.”
